Love’s not cursory
It can prize endearing faults
And fail perfection
We must search our hearts
For an undiscovered song
And learn to sing it
Greed casts a shadow
Made wide by the glare of pride
Where no seed can grow
Who needs a party
When flowers are the friends
Adorning the day
Life will find its way
Over obstacles and time
Back to the ocean
Those that are wordless
The tree, the cloud, and this rock
Have stories to tell
Who gets to decide,
When you are blooming and green,
That you are a weed?
In the subjunctive
Desires and doubts conspire
Past shaped by present
One who lives the most
Makes the living look easy
Humor strength and grace
